Moreover, the experience gained in the workplace is invaluable and it opens a wide range of opportunities”. Kashif is an active advocate for degree apprenticeships and regularly delivers degree apprenticeship workshops and mentors applicants to help as many people as possible land their dream apprenticeship.
Kacey Scotland is a Software Engineering Degree Apprentice with the BBC. In her words: “I love my role and the fact that I am paid to follow my passion. In school, I studied Computing, Maths and Economics A Levels. Despite applying for the traditional university options, I chose an apprenticeship as I felt it would allow me to gain more experience, get my foot in the door and be able to achieve a degree debt-free. In work, I have also been given unique chances for personal development, including participating in many apprentices training trips, being a speaker for Black History month, and editing our internal apprentice podcast. I highly recommend the apprenticeship route for anyone leaving school or even those looking to make a career change.”
