Workshop Resources
Each workshop aligns with the ten "Degree Apprenticeship Ready" sections on this website, thus enabling teachers to signpost students to these resources during (and after) each workshop. At the end of each workshop are essential homework tasks. Please download the resources and adapt as you see fit.
Introduction workshop - This workshop is designed to introduce students to degree apprenticeships and the benefits of this career pathway.
Workshop 1 - Networking - This workshop introduces students to the importance of networking. It includes advice about how to build a network using LinkedIn.
Workshop 2 - Work Experience - This workshop introduces students to the importance of work experience, and alternative ways to build their CVs: virtual, side hustle, volunteering, part-time work etc.
Workshop 3 - Upskilling - This workshop introduces students to the importance of upskilling, in particular free online courses that align with career ambitions.
Workshop 4 - Curriculum Vitae - This workshop explains how to create CVs that will stand out from the crowd, and how to tailor CVs to individual apprenticeship applications.
Workshop 5 - Finding Degree Apprenticeships - This workshop explains how to set up alerts and use AI effectively. It also signposts students to the best websites.
Workshop 6 - Getting organised - This workshop emphasises the importance of allocating adequate time to each application, and provides students with resources and advice to help them manage their time effectively.
Workshop 7 - Online applications - The vast majority of applicants are rejected at this stage (at least 80%). As such, teaching students how to ace their online applications is a must.
Workshop 8 - Interview ready - Understand the different interview formats (e.g. panel and pre-recorded), the STAR technique and how AI is being used to assess candidates.
