Why tailor your CV?
If your CV doesn’t reflect the requirements on the degree apprenticeship job description or person specification, you’re unlikely to be shortlisted.
Tailoring your CV: Once you’re happy with your CV, now is the time to create duplicate copies. For example, if you’re applying for a degree apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce, create a CV called “<<your name>>-CV-Rolls-Royce”.
Job description and person specification: These documents will allow you to see the skills and attributes they’re seeking. For example, they may be looking for a candidate with excellent problem solving, conflict resolution and time management skills. If so, in the Work Experience section of your CV, add these as “skills acquired”.
Using Artificial Intelligence intelligently: Upload your CV and the job description onto your AI platform of choice. Ask for suggestions for how you can better align your CV (e.g. what to add, what to expand, and things you could do to enhance your CV).
Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO): AI is only as good as the prompts. Write these carefully and save for future use.
