How to ace online one-to-one interviews
As with all online interviews, check the tech is working and do some one-to-one mock online interviews. This format tends to be somewhat easier than online group interviews, but some of the same lessons apply. In all one-to-one interviews (in person and online), you will have more time in the limelight, and every second is an opportunity to sell yourself. Below are a couple of additional things you should consider.
Bring notes
Have some written notes. For example, if you have key achievements or accomplishments you think would support your candidacy, write these on some flashcards and try to work them into your answers. (You can’t do this in a face–to-face interview.)
Take notes
During the interview write down things that you need to research further. There are two advantages to doing this. Firstly, you’ll be better prepared for face-to-face interviews and/or the assessment day. Secondly, the interviewer will see that you’re engaged.
